Team NL Rugby 7s is proud to announce the team to travel to Saint John, New Brunswick, to play in the third leg of the Atlantic 7s series of competitions between teams from New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland and Labrador. This event will be part of the Eastern Coast Games held on June 11th at the UNBSJ Canada Games Stadium. Caitlin Menchion will captain the team with help from assistant captain, Kaitlyn Hawco.
 
Caitlin Menchion commented, “Our team is headed to New Brunswick with more motivation to succeed, more experience and more knowledge of what we need to improve on. I know we can us this to help us achieve a better performance at the event!”
 
Ten players will make up the final squad for Canada Games, but currently, the squad has retained 13-players; one is on the injury list, and 12 will travel to the East Coast Games. Morgan Lovell and Roxanne Butler have been training the team, running skills sessions 3-4 times each week and the strength and conditioning training sessions three times per week provided by the Provincial Training Centre.
 
Morgan Lovell commented, “The New Brunswick leg of our Canada Games 7s Atlantics series will be an important weekend as we build towards Canada Games. We are hoping to see an improvement in individual and team performance from our home event.”
 
The team for the NB event: Alana Lee, Caitlin Menchion, Claire O’Brien, Deidre Ivey, Hailey Dowling, Jessie Penney, Kaitlyn Hawco, Kaylie Sandbrook, Laura McGrath, McKenna Davis Tucker, Sarah Mack, & Sydney Rose.
