The Women’s Rugby Seven Team NL travelled to PEI for the first in a series of Atlantic preparation competitions last weekend ahead of the 2022 Canada Games in Niagara, Ontario.
12-players were selected from the team’s long list of 18-players training to represent Newfoundland and Labrador at the Canada Games in Niagara, Ontario, in August 2022. These 12 players are Cali Dawe, Cecilia Martino, Claire O’Brien, Deidre Ivey, Hailey Dowling, Jessie Penney, Kaitlyn Hawco, Kaylie Sandbrook, Laura McGrath – Co-Captain, McKenna Davis-Tucker – Co-Captain, Morgan Stoyles, and Sydney Rose.
Coaches Morgan Lovell and Roxanne Butler were happy with the team’s performance and ability to adjust to the challenges, keep working hard when tired, and stay in the games.
